I had seen many forum avatars displaying logos, promoting products and services in the avatar space. And yes, it is a method of advertising witch more and more companies are adopting this strategies to be seen right in front of many forum members and readers.

As this method could be better implemented if the little Ads could be directed to a specific audience.

Lets say I am want to promote my “web design services” in a little avatar. Now I have two ways to promote it. But will be explaining more about their difference.

Example #1

• Go to a forum, make a search to see find out who is renting avatar space.
• Get into an arrangement of payment, send him my little banner (regularly a 80×80 px banner)
• And I got rented a little advertising space for… lets say 1 month.

In this case, I have to keep an aye on that person to make sure he still using my banner on his avatar… Also, I am not sure how often he will be posting and of curse, I don’t know what topics he will be posting about. I could easily be wasting my time, money and effort to get to my desired audience .

That is the old method of using avatars for branding and promoting your company and products.

Here we go with a new method that overpass the expected results of the old method.

Example # 2  (and new)

Hello everyone.

We are having problems displaying the avatars on the new widget. It looks like we had exceeded the amount of query request allowed. And the new widget is currently not displaying the avatars.

We are working on this matter and we will be posting here updates about it.

I had been working for a week on the “Profile Page” of 1mfp. It’s about 60% done.

This profile page is for members of forums that are using the “1mfp red icon” on posts and/or users profiles.

The profile page will be like any other user profile page with more or less features( at least for now), but it will have some great  features for  forum’s members as well for forum owners.

Some features of the Profile Page

• A section with links to all forums where you are a member of
• Cross forum friend list
• Cross forum member search
• 1mfp Widget on all profiles
• Comment posting on profile page
• Your own Ads on profile ( you can sell ads on your profile page)
• and more as we come along

Our focus is to help members to get known   in many forums(even before been a member of a particular forum) and help to forum owners to get  his/her forum  noticed in other  forum’s communities attracting new members with the help of the “1mfp red icon” and “1mfp widget“.

The red icon will be linked to the user’s profile

( example: http://username.1mfp.com) and when someone clicks on the red icon, their profile avatar will be displayed on the 1mfp widget which is a link to the user’s profile. (the widget is currently displayed in many forums, directories, blogs  and other websites and the 1mfp widget will be on all profiles pages )
